Michael Dalsaso Obituary

Michael Joseph (Mike) Dalsaso of Durango, Colorado passed away peacefully in his sleep on February15, 2026. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 26,1956. He was the treasured first child of Mary Kay Dalsaso Schopen and Joseph M. Dalsaso (deceased).

Mike spent his formative years in Littleton, graduated from CSU, and then became a Naval Officer where he proudly served his country. Drawn by the outdoors, mountains and lifestyle, he made Durango his home in the 1990's. Mike was a parishioner at St. Columba Catholic Church where he served as an usher and a lector.

Professionally, Mike dedicated himself to the insurance and financial industry where he received awards, always striving to serve others with honesty and care. Outside of work Mike found joy and peace in the outdoors. He was an avid skier, backpacker, and fisherman. He believed in continual growth spiritually, mentally, and physically. He lived that out by faithfully serving and uplifting others in his community.

Mike is survived by his five siblings Julie Dalsaso (Patrick Behm) of Coeur d'Alene Idaho, Martin Dalsaso of Littleton, James Dalsaso of Florida, Mark Dalsaso (Kim Coston) of Durango, and Janet Rose (Ernest Rose) of Littleton. Shaylah Wood stepdaughter, 3 nephews and 4 nieces. The extended family consists of Aunts, Uncles and cousins in Colorado, Michigan, Ohio, Idaho, Florida, Montana, and New Mexico. In addition, his life-long friends all of whom he loved very much.

A celebration of life will take place later this year.
