He was involved in Corvairs for over 40 years and loved showing them off at Corvair Tri-States, conventions, meets, etc. He belonged to Rocky Mountain CORSA, Pikes Peak CORSA, Corvairs of New Mexico, CORSA International, Volvo Clubs of America, and the local Durango Car Club. Besides his love for cars, he enjoyed rock concerts and travelling to many states and countries along with travelling on cruise ships.

We just found out that Tim had passed. We made friends with Tim at the Volvo Car Clinic in Durango many years ago. After we sold our car we would stop in just to say hi. We are very sad for his family, the family he was so very proud of. RIP Tim.

What a loss! Tim was a client of mine for the past 12 years or so. Aside from his knowledge and expertise, I will truly miss the banter we had about a wide variety of topics. My condolences to his family.

It is with great sadness and shock to learn of Tim's unexpected passing. My deepest condolences to Lily, Matthew and Anthony. Tim was a great Volvo and Corvair mechanic but more importantly, Tim was a wonderful human being. Kind, personable, and giving. We shared many, many enjoyable conversations. Tim will be sorely missed by so many. May he rest in peace.

We are so sad to hear of Tim´s passing. A neighbor of the Shortles, we saw them often, generally driving his Volvos around. He will be missed. Please reach out if we can do anything for the family. Gary and Vonnie

My husband Carl Kelsen introduced me to Tim and Lily when I attended a Corvair convention quite a few years ago. Coming from Australia, I did not know many at the event. Tim and Lily were incredibly warm and welcoming at that time. When Carl attended future events on his own, there was always a message from my new friends. I was looking forward to catching up at the Convention this year. We were both devastated when we received the news and can only share the pain and loss that his family feels. Notwithstanding the impact his love of life and kindness had on so many others. Arlette Pat (Melbourne, Australia)

We are shocked to hear the sad news. We met Timothy the first time at the Tri State 2013. I still admire how patient and friedlich he was bugged by my joungest one exermining and testing the Camping quality of his Corvair van. A great guy surely missed by our family.

I got to know Tim well over the years, and was pleased to let him adopt my beloved Texas Corvair. He honored me by saying that it would always be referred to as the Mark Corbin car. I knew it was in safe hands, and was especially pleased that he loved driving it. It meant so much to me when he said that it was the first Corvair that his wife actually liked. And every convention and event we met at, he'd take me to lunch. I always figured I'd go before him. HIs was a very untimely loss.

He will always be remembered by me for his joy of life, his dry sense of humor, and generous heart. I will miss him more than anyone will or can ever know. When it comes my turn, be it ever so distant still, I will be overjoyed to see him again on the other side, where there are no tears, but those of joy and love. May the Lord bless you as you richly deserve, my beloved friend.

I live in Australia on the other side of the world, however regardless of the long distance I considered Timothy Shortle to be a close and valued friend.

Timothy was an exceptional person in so many ways. Tim gave freely of his time. His knowledge of classic cars, in particular Chevrolet Corvairs was incredible. His kindness and concern for others was always exceptional.

I had hoped to visit Timothy in 2024 in the USA and had hoped that Timothy might have visit us in Australia. I regarded Timothy as a close and valued friend. I never never forget him.

I am sincerely sorry for Timothys wife Lilly and there two sons in what must be a very difficult time with Timothys sudden and unexpected passing.

I will long remember Timothys friendly nature and his constant care for others. Our world has lost an exceptional man and I have lost a wonderful friend.

I will hold lots of wonderful memories of Timothy Shortle and never forget him.

Knew Tim thru Corvairs. He never failed to make me laugh. My husband, Ken sold parts at events. He left me in charge once when Tim came to browse - and tried to haggle the price for a thermostat! After that, at every gathering it was a standing joke and it led to some wonderful discussions. I will miss those times. May he rest in peace, and may his friends and family be comforted by memories.

The first time I met Tim was in Durango. He had offered me a part for my Rampside, only catch was I had to pick it up. I surprised him by doing just that. He was such a great person that I enjoyed seeing at Corvair events all over. You will be missed.

Will miss talking to you Mr. Tim Shortle. I got messed up with back infections, so I missed you at the last Palm Springs Fan Belt Toss. I trust Curt Shimp kept you up to date.
Was hoping to catch up with you at the Convention in Dayton, OH in July. Not meant to be. Rest in Peace Mr. Tim Shortle.
