Rebecca Sneed Obituary

Former Durango resident Rebecca Ann Wilson Sneed died of heart failure as a complication of diabetes on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, in Montrose. She was 56.

Mrs. Wilson Sneed was born to Robert Eugene and Maryann (Myer) Wilson on Nov. 6, 1954, in Waycross, Ga.

She lived in Portland, Ore., for 34 years, working as a bartender for several years, before becoming disabled. Mrs. Wilson Sneed lived in Durango for 22 years before moving to Montrose six month ago.

She married Glenn Sneed.

Mrs. Wilson Sneed loved church, scrapbooking, doing crossword puzzles and playing handheld video games.

"She was a very talented, amazing, selfless woman and a wonderful mom," her daughter Jennifer Salazar said.

Mrs. Wilson Sneed is survived by her daughters Jennifer Salazar of Durango and Crystal Sneed Nellermore of Portland; stepson, Jason Tippton of Portland; two grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.

Cremation has occurred. A memorial service will be held at sunset Sunday, June 19, 2011, on the Colorado side of Navajo Lake.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
