Ray Martin Obituary

Ray (David) Martin July 17, 1933-February 14, 2022

Ray was born in Ignacio, Colorado to Paul B. Martin and Kate Martin (Fletcher)

He is survived by his wife Nancy Martin (Bauer) of Manson, Iowa, daughter Pam Owen and son-in-law Bill of Kerrville, Texas, granddaughter Erica Owen of California, son Mitchel Martin and daughter-in-law Kelly of Westminster, Colorado, sister Carol Haga of Durango, Colorado, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ray graduated from Ignacio High School in 1951. He served in the army for two years and bought his prize black 56' Chevy. He married Kay Snook in 1957 and they raised their family there. He was a mechanic, welder and business owner in the four corners area during his earlier years. He lived in many states in his later years but eventually settled in Iowa near Nancy's family.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and anything with an engine. He loved his family, the outdoors and his many kitties.

Family and friends will be joining in a celebration of life and memorial service near the Vallecito river where he often loved to fish. The celebration will be held at 112 Spruce Lane, Bayfield, Colorado at the north end of Vallecito Lake at 11:00AM, Saturday August 6, 2022. All are welcome!
