Marjory Egger Obituary

Marjory Ann Baldy Egger passed away in Mesa, AZ, Friday, Jan. 16th, 2026 at the age of 90.

Margie was born in Dolores, CO on Aug. 14th, 1935 to Marguerite Ruth(Patterson) Baldy and Lacey Baldy. She was raised and educated in Dolores. She was married to Frederick "Reef" Egger on June 22, 1954. They made their home in Durango, CO and raised their four children there. Margie and Reef were married for over 71 years and she was so honored when her Granddaughter, Shantell, was married on their 71st anniversary. Margie loved being a Mom and was very present in her children's lives. She was involved with Brownie Scouts and Cub Scouts. As the children grew older, she became "Mom" to many of their friends. Margie and Reef were very involved in the Jaycees and the Jaycee-ettes for many years, which involved the whole family in many fun activities. She also belonged to Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority for a few years. Margie worked side by side with Reef for 24 years in their surveying and printing businesses in Durango. They retired to Mesa, AZ in 1991 and have lived there for the last 34 years. After retirement Margie and Reef traveled all over in relation to geneology and she authored a couple of geneology books on her family. Margie was very proud of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Margie is preceded in death by her Mother and Father, half brothers Sylvestus Holtzclaw, and Edward Baldy, brothers Donald Baldy, Alvin Baldy, and James Baldy, half sisters Mercy Baldy, Doris Baldy, Norma Holtzclaw, Margaret Holtzclaw, Dorcas Holtzclaw, Lorene Holtzclaw and Frances Holtzclaw, her son Jerry Egger, stepdaughter Debbie Scruggs, granddaughter Elektra While and step great granddaughter Jordyn Olheiser. She is survived by her husband Reef Egger of Mesa Az, her daughters, Jackie While (Don) of Laramie, Wy, Judy Egger(Bryan) of Woodinville, WA, and Joyce Cragg(Steve) of Mesa, AZ, stepson Frederick Reef Scruggs of S Carolina, granddaughter Shantell While-Leach(Matt) of Laramie, Wy, step grandson Frederick Reef Scruggs Jr(Ashley) of S Carolina, step granddaughter Crystal Olheiser(Brandon) of S Carolina, grandsons Dylan Cragg(Marina) of Lynnwood, WA and Jerremy Cragg(Summer) of Mesa, AZ, step granddaughter Jennifer Jones of NM, great granddaughters Jayden Leach of Salt Lake City, UT, Olivia Leach of Ft Collins, CO, and Keelynne Veniegas of Laramie, Wy, great grandsons Donny Veniegas of Laramie, Wy and Cayden Cragg of Lynnwood, WA. She is also survived by 8 step great grandchildren and 3 step great great grandchildren. Margie donated her body to Science Research and Education. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
