I made my presence in Ignacio at the Bank of Ignacio. I have all fond memories of so many of the Tribal members, especially of Chris Baker. During the term of Leonard Burch, the Tribe made great advancement in financial and cultural fields. It was heart warming to see Chris Baker take up the reigns and lead the council during those difficult times. Chris was my friend. I like to believe that we were his friends and allies. My God's blessings flow to the family of Chris.

Sadden to hear the loss of your dad, grandpa and great-grandpa and of course FRIEND. I always remember his smile and friendly conversations. He is at peace now,
and enjoying the good things as he and Esther stroll through the Garden of Heaven. May you find the strength in the creator to carry on, and always remember gramps is in a better place. Love, Connie B.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Baker Family. It was men like Mr.Chris Baker and Mr. Lenard Burch that made me proud to be a Native of Ignacio. These men had a common ground which was to treat all good at every opportunity. God Bless Mr. Baker and the greatness he has left behind for his Family, the Southern ute Nation and the community of Ignacio.
