Carolyn Dooley Obituary

Carolyn Elaine Dooley passed from this world February 6, 2026, in her home in Durango, Colorado, with her husband of 68 years by her side.

Carolyn was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was born in Illinois in the town of Phillipstown to James Jordan Doty and Esther Allena (Clifford) Doty.

In her 93 years she saw many changes in the world, from living through the Great Depression to seeing astronauts walk on the moon. She lived in several states with her husband, Dean.

Always a hard worker, she was employed in various industries over the years. She worked in retail shops in the Durango area and made many friends, not retiring until her 80's.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jerry Earl Doty and sister Charlotte Ann Sibley (Norman).

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Joseph Dean Dooley, her children, Cynthia Ann Salit, Teresa Lynn Dooley, Sherri Lea Dooley and her sisters, Verda (Buzz) Meyers and Lorna (Chuck) Gabbert.

She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Shauna Dooley, Zachary Adell (Lissi) and Conner Adell, her niece, Jeanna Cross, and many other nieces and nephews.

Great-grandchildren include WIllow Dooley, Phoenix Wallace and Indie Wolf Adell.

No public services are planned at this time.
