Longtime resident of Ignacio, Beatrice Lucero Duran died Saturday, March 17, 2012, in Ignacio. She was 76.

She was born April 18, 1935, in Montrose to Julio and Margaret Lucero.

In 1961, Mrs. Duran and her family moved to San Diego.

They moved back to Ignacio in 1994, and Mrs. Duran worked as a bookkeeper in her husband's construction business, Duran's Construction.

Mrs. Duran was a longtime member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Ignacio.

She enjoyed camping, gardening, ceramics, weaving, crocheting and dancing. Mrs. Duran also taught herself to play the piano and organ.
