Arthur Bales Obituary

Arthur William "Bill" Bales, III, 85, passed away peacefully on December 12,2024.

Bill was born on December 29,1938, in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended Florida State University. After serving as a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force he continued his aviation journey by joining the Alabama National Guard. In 1967, he began his career as a pilot for Delta Airlines, retiring as a Captain in 1996.

A true adventurer at heart, Bill earned the nickname "Action Man" for his love of the outdoors. He embraced every opportunity for adventure. His larger-than-life personality, infectious sense of humor, and unwavering kindness made him a beloved figure to all who knew him. Bill is survived by his devoted wife Laura, his six children and 11 grandchildren.

To fly West Billy is a flight we must all eventually take. We wish you blue skies and tailwinds on your final flight and know you will forever be loved.
