Shirley Ann Brown, age 89, of Homosassa, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026. She is the eldest of seven children, and she provided helping hands for her younger siblings. She married Glen Conley Isom from Norton, VA, and had four children together, Debra Mitchell, Glen Isom, Johnny Isom, and Michael Isom. She became a widow in 1970, met and married Leroy Brown and gained a stepdaughter, Tina Alley. They were blessed with a son together, Roy Lee Brown.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Leroy Brown, six children, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and four siblings, Darrell Huff, Helen Cavallini, Reba Huff, and Michael Huff.

She was preceded in death by her parents Otis Huff and Kathleen Scott; her brother, Ronald Huff; her sister, Lucille Davies; and 2 grandchildren.

Shirley was devoted in her faith, loved flowers, butterflies, music, dancing, and travel. Shirley and her husband enjoyed many wonderful times. Some of her fondest memories were their trip to Europe, camping with her children and grandchildren, motorcycle trips with friends, and the days she spent dancing on American Bandstand.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Sister, friend, surrogate mother, I hope you knew how much I loved you. These last months when I visited you your eyes would light up and you smiled as though you hadn't seen me in years. You would reach for my hand and hold it our whole visit, I felt your love so strongly. That memory will always comfort me. I will hold you in my heart until my last day. You are precious and missed.

A truly beautiful woman Shirley was. I was blessed to be her neighbor. Deb, her daughter is my oldest and dearest friend. I remember records playing in a lively, yet calm house, where I always felt welcome. Us children played cards around her kitchen table many times and numerous nights I stayed over. Deb and I would whisper and giggle for hours. If I were there and dinner time came, Shirley sat an extra plate at the table for me. I always felt welcome. These and many more memories I will always treasure in my heart.

Debbie, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. A beautiful lady, just like you; and you do look like her! And to think I might have seen her on American Bandstand!

My sweet bonus mom. I loved her very much. I loved our laugh sessions. We would crack each other up and laughed until we cried. My heart hurts, but I know she is relieved to be free.
