Gail Gentile Bosta
January 13, 1953 - February 17, 2026
Gail Gentile Bosta (Gigi to her beloved grandchildren), 73, of Richmond, Va., died in a tragic accident while on vacation with the love of her life, Bill, on February 17th, 2026. Gail was many things to many people.
As a special education teacher for 33 years, she compassionately and fiercely advocated, taught, and aided children and parents. As a faithful United Methodist, she sat on countless committees and was a leader of her women's small group, "Women of Spirit," for the last 15 years. To her children, she offered wise counsel, relentless support, and a determination to complete "projects." To her grandchildren, she was a cheerleader, storyteller, thoughtful gift giver, and playmate. To her friends, she was a workout buddy, party host, and confidant. The oldest of four, Gail had many classic oldest child/daughter traits - she was organized, driven, and responsible.
To her beloved Bill, she was "legendary." On their first date, Bill and Gail never looked back; Bill made sure to keep asking her on dates so no one else could do so. Bill and Gail modeled a relationship of love and care. They truly enjoyed each other's company and through 50 years of Christ-centered love they exemplified trust, respect, loyalty, understanding, and a steadfast commitment to family.
Gail is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bill; her children, Bryan (Marla) Bosta of Falls Church, Va. and Blair (Shane) Setnor of Atlanta, Ga.; her grandchildren, Geoffrey, Claire, Wes, and Emmaline; and her siblings, Gary (Pat) Gentile of Green Pond, N.J., Gina (Carl) Miller of Richmond, Va. and Glen (Deborah) Gentile of Morrison, Colo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Joyce Gentile.
Talented both academically and athletically, Gail earned her diploma from West Milford High School, New Jersey and obtained both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in special education from Radford University, Radford, Va., while also competing in collegiate swimming. Gail was an incredible educator. She especially enjoyed her time with young children and her influence was much wider than the classrooms in which she taught. In demonstration of her impact, students and parents remained in touch with her throughout her life. She was deeply honored by these long-term relationships.
Gail enjoyed being with her family, particularly her grandchildren. In addition, she loved working out at the YMCA, traveling to visit friends, and attending sporting events with Bill.
Gail was utterly beloved. Her life and actions were impactful and she will be dearly missed. Her legacy will continue.
A service of Death and Resurrection will be held at Reveille United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 14th, 2026 at 2 p.m. A reception will follow immediately in the fellowship hall.
