Patricia Barnes White was born on January 8, 1934, in Dallas, Texas, to Hugh and Creo Barnes. She recently celebrated her 91st birthday.
Pat briefly worked at Texas Eastman, where she met the love of her life, Robert G. (Bob) White. They married on August 4, 1962, and built a beautiful life together in Longview, Texas, where they spent most of their 58 years of marriage.
A devoted wife and mother, Pat dedicated herself to raising her beloved sons, Rob and Stephen. She and Bob were founding members of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, where she was active during these years. She and Bob also loved playing golf and travelling.
As her boys grew older, Pat found another calling-helping others through volunteer work. For over 35 years, she served as an AARP volunteer tax preparer, and was recognized by the community for her years of dedicated service where she found fulfillment as she served into her 80's.
Above all, Pat was a devoted grandmother to her cherished granddaughters, Patti and Abby. Each summer, they eagerly looked forward to their special solo week at Grandmother's house, creating memories filled with love and laughter.
During the COVID pandemic, Pat moved to Austin to be closer to her son and daughter-in-law, but most importantly, to remain near her beloved Bob.
Pat was kindhearted, loving, and genuine. She was thoughtful, generous, and compassionate, always more interested in others than being in the spotlight herself. She was a dedicated caretaker, lovingly caring for her parents and, later, for Bob. Her warmth and unwavering devotion to family and friends earned her the admiration of many, and she will be deeply missed.
While our hearts ache with loss, we find comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior, reunited with her husband Bob, her son Stephen, and many dear friends who went before her.
Pat is survived by her son Rob, daughter-in-law Julia, and granddaughters Patti and Abby, as well as granddaughter-in-law Ashton. Other family members include nephews Jon and Craig White of Dallas and their wives, Michelle and Michelle; and numerous great-nieces and nephews
Her legacy of love, kindness, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
There will be a time of visitation, 3pm-5pm on Fri. Feb. 21st, at Rader Funeral Home, Longview. A celebration of life service will be held at 1pm on Sat, Feb. 22nd at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Longview.
