Catherine Ebbeson Obituary

Catherine Teresa Ebbeson passed away peacefully at home on February 26, 2026, with her family and constant companion Sofie by her side.

Cathy was born November 13, 1944, in San Francisco, California to Helen (Bergkoetter) from Germany and Andrew Jackson Webb from North Dakota. She grew up in Marin County before moving to Napa at age 8. Cathy had fond memories of summers spent as a child in Pasadena, CA with her sisters.

Cathy graduated Napa High School in 1962 and attended Napa Junior College. Cathy worked in the Napa Valley wine industry for 20 years. She served as Events Director at Opus One and Mondavi wineries.

In 1991 Cathy married Carl Ebbeson and was married for 35 years. Cathy loved to travel and visited Italy, France and many destinations across Europe, as well as Hawaii, Mexico, and attended the Kentucky Derby. They also held season tickets to the SFO Opera House and enjoyed many shows. Cathy made sure her children learned to ski when they were young, and they fondly remember the Lake Tahoe ski trips.

Cathy enjoyed playing the piano and was a member of the St. Apollinaris church. Nana hosted many celebrations and holidays and took great joy in decorating, cooking and making it special for everyone. She was a devoted mother and extraordinary grandmother, and had a special gift for making each person feel cherished and celebrated. As Nana, she was patient, playful, and always ready with a hug or a perfectly timed joke. Her warmth, kindness, and humor made her deeply loved by her family and friends alike.

Remaining to cherish Cathy's memory are her husband Carl Ebbeson, loyal companion Sophie, daughter Debi Heskett/Duane, sons Tom Estrella/ Dani, John Estrella/Debbie, Grandchildren Crystal, Duane, Shelby, Tommy, Nicole, Danielle, Lincoln, Locke. Great grandchildren Wyatt, Sawyer, Jay, Eli, Amelia Grace, Beloved niece Diane Folsom and many nephews and nieces in Alaska.

Cathy is preceded in death by her Mother, Father and her siblings Myrtie, Dorothy, Mary, Charlotte, Veronica, Andy, Anthony, Jerome.

A devoted Wife, Mother, Nana, Great Grandma, Auntie and Friend. Cathy was the light of our lives and will be missed immensely.
