Mary Pahl Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stith Funeral Home & Family Center - Junction City on Feb. 12, 2026.
Mary Karen Cox Pahl, 74, died on February 11, 2026. Mary was born on February 22, 1951, in Danville to Norma Followel Cox and the late William Jackson Cox. Mary's first love and joy was without doubt her family. Her light shone brightest when she was surrounded by those she loved. Mary was a gifted cook and baker. If you ever received a plate of cookies or snacks from her then she considered you one of "hers" and was one of the many ways she showed her love and affection. Mary also enjoyed travel and was particularly fond of St. Augustine. She enjoyed being on the beach and watching the sunrise and sunset. She enjoyed the town's rich history. Most of all she enjoyed it because she was with her family. Mary was also an avid reader. She particularly enjoyed Stephen King and Dean Koontz. Mary passed her love of reading along to not only her daughter and grandson, Cody, but to her many nieces and nephews as well. Mary also had a passion for antiques and enjoyed collecting depression glass. It wasn't unusual for friends or family to ask her opinion on a particular pattern or maker of glass.

Mary is survived by her husband Wayne Pahl, daughter, Alethea "Cat" Baldwin, grandson, Cody Baldwin, sister, Jane Smith, brothers, Dennis (Collette) Cox, Billy Cox, and Millard (Carol) Cox, niece, Chelsie Cox, nephews, RJ Smith, Casey Cox, Daniel Cox, and Josh Cox, great-nieces and nephews, Madison Cox, Bryson Cox, Addalyn Cox, Norrie Cox, and several more.

The funeral service will be at 1 pm on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. Visitation will be from 5 pm to 7 pm on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City.
