Loyse Porter Obituary

Loyse Clare Porter, 94, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Bethany on 42nd, Fargo, ND.

Loyse was born on September 27, 1931, in Tintah, MN, to Clifford and Annette (Lehman) Porter. She graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in Breckenridge, MN, in 1952. She enjoyed a long, fulfilling career as a registered nurse. She left that profession in 1998 to partner with her then husband to buy and grow a family-oriented seasonal campground on Big Cormorant Lake in Minnesota. She took great pride in developing a sought-after campground. She thoroughly enjoyed the residents and watching their children grow over the many years.

Loyse is survived by 2 daughters, 2 sons, a brother and sister-in-law, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by 2 sons, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and her parents.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. A livestream of the service will be available here on Loyse's webpage. Interment will be at St. Gall’s Catholic Church in Tintah, MN.
