Benjamin Yates Thorne
June 27, 1977 – March 6, 2026
Ben Yates Thorne, age 48, of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away on March 6, 2026. Ben was born on June 27, 1977. He was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and strength to everyone who knew him.
Ben had a laugh that could fill a silent room and turn it into a place of joy. He was known for his strong work ethic and his incredible intelligence, always finding solutions and offering guidance to those around him. More than anything, Ben cared deeply for the people he loved and was always willing to lend a hand. Whether sharing his tools, helping a neighbor, or offering acts of service, he believed in showing up for others.
Above all, Ben was a father who loved his children with his whole heart. He is survived by his three children: his oldest daughter, Gracie Thorne; his middle child, Baylee Thorne; and his youngest son, Trey Thorne. He is also survived by his loving mother, Karen Thorne; his sister, Kim Shook; his brother-in-law, Dusty Shook; his niece and nephew, Lilly and Hudson Shook; and his lifelong best friend, Krista Thorne.
Ben was not only a loving father but also an incredible friend and neighbor. While like all of us he had his faults, he remained a man who did his best to put his family first and take care of the people around him. His kindness, strength, and willingness to help others will always be remembered.
Ben is now reunited with his father, his aunt, and the family members who went before him. Though his passing was not what anyone wished for, there is peace in knowing he did not suffer and went peacefully into the arms of God.
His memory will live on through the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.
