Katherine E. Angus, age 86, of Leland, Michigan passed away on February 2, 2026, at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born March 27, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late David and Martha Eckert. Kathy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Tom Angus; her children Jenny Whitaker (Glenn), Carrie Demers (Marc), and Betsy Angus; her grandchildren Emma Whitaker (James), Claire Watkins (Nick), Matthew Demers (Courtney) and Jason Demers; and her great-grandchildren Everett, Daisy and Arlo. She is also survived by her three sisters: Marty Alexander, Linda Linnenberg and Joan Jackson.

Kathy received her degree in education from Miami University, and while raising her three daughters, was a passionate tutor for learning disabled children. She was also very involved with Kindervelt, the auxiliary for Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Later, she worked with Tom at The Angus Group in Cincinnati doing accounting and payroll until they retired and moved permanently to Leland.

Kathy loved nature and animals. She rode horses, trained a therapy dog, spent lots of time in the woods hiking and cross-country skiing, and played golf at the Leland Country Club. She enjoyed flowers and gardening at home, and around town at the Leland marina and post office. She was involved in the Little Garden Club, and with Wildflower Rescue with the Leelanau Conservancy.

Her many interests included a local knitting group and singing in the Leland Methodist Church choir. She was a positive person with a caring, unselfish nature, who loved life.

There will be a memorial service this summer when the family can gather in Leland.

Kathy's family feels blessed by the wonderful support they received from Kathy's devoted care team over the last few years: Joie, Katie, Jean and Trish. The kind and caring staff at Bayshore Wellness Hospice were also essential in these last weeks.
