Janet S. “Jan” Stagge, 80, of Fountaintown, passed away Monday, March 9, 2026.

She was born January 23, 1946, in Shelbyville, IN to John Pursley and Ester (Belter) Pursley.

Jan graduated from Triton Central High School with the Class of 1964. She was a homemaker for many years. She also worked at JoAnn Fabrics for almost 20 years before she retired. She had a love for crafts and sewing. Jan enjoyed working in her flowerbeds and being involved with cub scouts when her boys were younger. In retirement, she cherished the times spent with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed the time with her 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Jan was a member of 4H, Homemakers, Country Crafters and her high school senior group.

She married Robert L. “Bob” Stagge on September 21, 1968, and he survives. They shared 57 loving years of marriage together.

She is also survived by her sons, John Stagge, Tim Stagge (spouse, Paul Bullock) and James (spouse, Angie) Stagge and brother, Roger Pursley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Edward Stagge and sister, Linda Swails.

Visitation will be Friday, March 13, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Jan’s family.
