James “Jamie” W. Evans, age 54, of Celina, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
He was born on June 24, 1971, in St. Marys, Ohio, to the late Warner Evans and Louann (Reed) Hough.
Jamie is survived by his children, Chelsea Westgerdes of Celina and Josh Evans of Cridersville; three beloved grandchildren, Lexi Toler, Bentley Westgerdes, and Lorenzo Gonzalez; his siblings, Julie Bowers of West Newton, Pennsylvania, Teresa (Luciano) Cherin of Vero Beach, Florida, Mary Jacobs of Celina, Loma (Danny) Moser of Ocala, Florida, and Jason (Heather) Evans of Litchfield Park, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Evans and Carl “Joe” Evans; and his sister, Barbara Ann Pfeiffer.
Jamie was the proud owner and operator of Evans Contracting in Celina for many years. Known for his strong work ethic, he dedicated his life to roofing and construction. Outside of work, he enjoyed cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, staying fit, and spending time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He also shared a special bond with his loyal dog, Tucker.
Jamie was a kind and generous person to everyone, including his clients, tenants, friends, and family. His warm spirit and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on those who knew him.
He attended Abounding Grace Ministries in Celina.
A funeral service to honor Jamie’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Rick Brosher officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
