Mary Marcella Porter passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the age of 73. She was born on January 22, 1953, in Baton Rouge, LA, to James and Helen Porter.
Mary graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and went on to pursue her career as an Administrative Assistant for the Sheet Metal Worker’s Union Local No. 21. Mary enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, James K. Porter and Helen Wallace Porter; and sister, Sharon A. Porter Hutchinson.
She is survived by her sons, Adam Porter (Danielle), and Andrew Porter Breen (Judith); sister, Pam Brasseaux; brother, Jim Porter; and grandchildren, Margaret Breen, Oliver Breen, Bryson Porter, and Jaylin Porter.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, at Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA, with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 AM.
