Debbie Bennett Obituary

Debbie Ann Bennett, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Biloxi Memorial Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Bennett, and parents, David Rushing and Mary Farmer Bean (stepfather William). 

She is survived by her five sons; William Hendrix, Stephen Hendrix, Christopher Bennett (Cherish), Chase Bennett (Carolina), and Chad Bennett (Cici); eleven grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Annslie, Stephen Jr., Gabbrielle, Christopher Jr., Cali-Faye, Carter, Chase Jr., Niayah, Cienna and a baby boy on the way.

Debbie is also survived by four siblings, Mary Patch (Mike), David Rushing Jr., Judy Woodard, and Tonya Burk (Bryan). 

She was a life-long resident of Slidell. Debbie lived a vibrant, joyful life, spreading kindness and laughter everywhere she went. Raised by her loving father and mother, she enjoyed a lively childhood alongside her four siblings, where her deep love for family first took root. That devotion only grew stronger as she poured her heart into raising her five wonderful sons. Along the way, she met and married the love of her life, Raymond Bennett, and together they built a warm, welcoming home in Slidell LA.

Debbie always made time for the people she cared about — her family, her friends, and her community. She found tremendous joy in giving back, especially through her many years of volunteer work with East St. Tammany Toys for Tots. As her family grew, so did her heart, and she adored and loved every moment spent surrounded by her eleven grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and insurmountable joy.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME,1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST, Slidell, LA. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 1:00 P.M.

Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday after 11:00 A.M. until funeral time.

Interment will follow in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.
