Karen Houghton Obituary

Karen Lee Houghton, 65, passed suddenly on the first day of Spring, March 18, 2024. Daughter of M.J. Shannon and Robert Houghton of San Diego, CA, and mother to Natalie Zettel, her only daughter who said "My mother was the best mother a daughter could ask for. She was a selfless, kindhearted soul and Mom, a best friend to me and to many."She was one of the Homecoming Queen candidates at La Jolla High in 1975 along with some of her girlfriends. Her former husband, Mark Zettel, father of Natalie, was a supporter of Karen as well as Natalie.She was loved by so many. She will be missed for her light spirit and happy heart - and her humor!A family service and memorial was held for Karen in April in the Los Angeles area by her sister Kristen Jenner and family. She will rest at El Camino Memorial Park in Sorrento Valley, CA, with her dad and grandparents.
