Carol Kay Park

March 25, 1945 - March 1, 2026

Kansas City, Missouri - Carol Kay Park, 80, of Kansas City, MO went to her eternal home on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Carol was born to George and Marjorie (Etherton) Park on March 25, 1945 in St. Joseph, MO She and her parents lived in Leona, KS until moving to Easton, MO in 1947.

Carol attended grade and high school in Easton. Starting in the 6th grade thru high school she loved playing basketball. In her senior year of high school Carol was asked to play on the Amateur Athletic Union Women's Pepsi Cola basketball team. This is continued for two years while attending St. Joseph Junior College, now MO Western St. University.

After graduating from junior college Carol attended Northwest Missouri State University where she obtained her undergraduate and master's degree in Elementary Education.

Carol taught second and third grade for 30 years at Line Creek in the Park Hill School system, retiring in 1997. The following year, in March, she went to work for a friend who owned Cowell Insurance Group. Carol said you should never work for a friend or sell a car to a friend. She did both and it worked out well.

Carol has been a long-time member of the Parkville Presbyterian Church where she served on the Board of Deacons, was a member of the Prayer Team and served two terms on the Session. Carol also loved planning dinners and visiting members who were unable to attend church services.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother in 1967 and father in 1996.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Parkville Presbyterian Church 819 Main St. Parkville, MO. Placement of the urn will immediately follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Parkville, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to either the Parkville Presbyterian Church or the PKD Foundation, 1001 E. 101 Terrace, STE 220, Kansas City, MO 64131. Memories of Carol and condolences to the family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com Cremation entrusted with Meyers Northland Chapel, Parkville, MO.
