Kristine Carnahan Obituary

Kristine Carnahan

Kristine Melina Carnahan, 48, passed away on December 30, 2025, in Oceanside, California. Her passing marks the loss of a warm and radiant presence whose light touched many lives.

Born on June 28, 1977, in Livermore, California, Kristine grew up surrounded by the beauty of Northern California. From an early age, she exhibited a deep love for learning and a natural empathy that would later define her life's work and relationships.

Kristine dedicated three decades to education, serving as a teacher for 30 years. Her classroom was more than just a place of instruction-it was a space where students felt seen, heard, and inspired. Her passion for teaching extended beyond academics; she nurtured curiosity, encouraged kindness, and instilled confidence in countless young minds. Her legacy lives on in the lives of those she taught and mentored throughout her career.

She found joy in the simple yet profound pleasures of life-spending time in nature, listening to music that moved her soul, traveling to new places with wonder and openness, and building strong connections within her community. Kristine cherished her friendships deeply and brought laughter and warmth wherever she went. Her generosity of spirit and quick wit made her beloved by all who knew her.

Kristine is survived by her son, Emerich McLaughlin; her partner, Keith McLaughlin; her mother, Norma Carnahan; her sister, Kara Carnahan; and her nephew, Jacob Green. She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Carnahan.

The world lost a bright light far too soon. May Kristine's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

I knew Kristine through her group of Bay Area friends (Tina, Wendy & Veronica). From time to time I would cross paths with Kristine. Most recently, in San Diego this Summer.
Kristine was a warm and genuine soul. So present, kind and full of light. Conversation always flowed so easily and honestly. She was a kindred spirit. We talked about her parents and how privileged she felt to support them and spend time with them. Our dads were both vets and had similar illnesses. How hard it was to see them suffer.
Kristine shared her love so freely. Always had a smile and was ready for anything. I always appreciate her perspective, advice and honesty. She was a very positive person.
There is nothing she loved more than her family and friends. She absolutely loved being a mom. She just lit up when talking about Emerich. She was so proud of him and who he was becoming. It breaks my heart that she won´t be here to watch him grow. She loved her life in San Diego and her partner Keith. They built such a beautiful family together and community. I still can´t believe she is gone. I so sorry for your devastating loss. There are no words. Please rest in knowing how impactful Kristine was to her family, friends, community and all those she loved. She loved fiercely.

Kristine was a beautiful soul!
She was so kind when I´d met her. I was doing a job moving her parents to her to Oceanside from Tennessee. My parents had bought her parents home
When arriving at her home in ocean side she was so excited to see her parents! She came to me thanking me for moving them home to her and hugged me a good while. Such a sweet girl. She rented me and my spouse a beautiful hotel room beside the harbor. Next to the ocean! Spectacular spot!!!
We was treated as family by her & her husband as her parents
I have a deep love for them all
You just don´t find ppl like them everyday!!! They don´t ever leave your mind and you always long for that friendship! I miss them so much!!! Rip Rodger and Kristen until we met again!
I can only hope that is true
God bless you angels
