William Richards Obituary

On Sunday May 22, 2022, our beloved dad, grandpa, husband, brother and uncle William Lloyd Richards, Jr. left this world. He leaves behind his son, Ethan and wife Sherry; daughters Ryanna and Shayna; grandsons, Zitayvius, Zavier and Atticus; granddaughter Hazel; sisters Wahleah Frost, Natalie Richards and Lorena Richards; brothers Ray Richards, Donavon Silva, Corey Richards, Randall Baker and Ronald Baker; Uncle Howard Richards, Sr.; aunt Glenda Richards and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. Will is preceded in death by his parents, Maxine Silva and William Richards, Sr. and nephew Nick Herrera.

Will "Jr." lived, worked and raised his family in Ignacio, Colorado. He was a member of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, where he worked in the Grounds Maintenance Department. Will was a caring man who loved his family. Children and grandchildren who he adored. He always had a way with his jokes and had a great sense of humor with a joyous spirit. He could lighten up the room or anyone's day no matter what the situation was. Will was an avid Bronco's, Avalanche, Rockies and Nuggets fan. One would say he was a sports fanatic. He also enjoyed movies and video games.

You would often see him working with his crew around the tribal campus. He liked to joke around and spend time with his family and friends. Will was the life of the party that never had a mean bone in his body. He will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, family, lifelong friends, coworkers and everyone that knew him.

There will be a service for Will on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Southern Ute Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Ouray Memorial Cemetery.
