William Kincaid Obituary

Durango resident William H. Kincaid died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, from complications of chronic obstructive pulmonary

disorder and emphysema at Four Corners Health Care Center. He was 68.

Known as “Bill," he was born to Wil-liam and Mary Kincaid on Nov. 2, 1941, in Seattle. He grew up in Seattle and worked

in the area until he moved to Colorado in 1995 to marry Elizabeth “Betty" McDonald. The couple married June 24, 1995,

at the Salvation Army in Littleton.

They moved to Durango in 1997, where he worked as a maintenance supervisor then returned to truck driving for Bobby

Rathjen. His wife said he was a jack-of-all-trades but mastered driving trucks and operating heavy equipment.

He enjoyed fishing, playing five-card stud poker and watching National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing events.

Mr. Kincaid is survived by his wife of 14 years, Elizabeth Kincaid, of Durango; children Penny Lynn MacRis of Burien,

Wash., Jody Anderson and Billy Kincaid Jr., both of Seattle, Mary Ann Beechy of Viola, Ark., and Billie Jo Younce of

Wrangell, Alaska; sisters Pat Roppel and Micky Parkinson, both of Burien, Kathy Van Geystel of Cle Elum, Wash., Roberta

Atkins and Mary Ann Spurgeon, both of Seattle, and Colleen Peterson of Hobart, Wash.; brother, Redman Kincaid, of Bonny

Lake, Wash.: 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church of Durango, 2917

Aspen Drive. Chaplain Earl Caudill will officiate.
