Whitley Scrivner Obituary
Age 94, died Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Chelsea Retirement Community. He was born August 14, 1922 in Tatum, New Mexico, the son of Clarence & Pearl (Rhea) Scrivner. Scriv was an engineer at Sandia Laboratory in Albuquerque, NM. After retirement, he taught mathematics at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. He also worked with Habitat for Humanity and with many friends as a carpenter and helper. He had a quick wit, a smart mind, and great love. On Feb 12, 1943, he married Katherine Batsel, at the First Baptist Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Karen Rhea of Ann Arbor and Jenny Scrivner of Scottsdale, AZ, and 4 grandchildren. Scriv was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, and a son, Michael. A Memorial service will be held Thursday, March 16, 10:30 am at the Towsley Village Library of Chelsea Retirement Community, with Chaplain Tina Zimmerman officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607. Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.

Eddie and I are so sorry for your loss. Scriv was a wonderful man and he will truly be missed. We will forever be grateful for all he did for our family and will always hold a special place in our heart for him. Sending our love to you and praying for Gods Comfort to surround you.

So sorry for your loss. May the memories bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart. May God's love comfort you and give you peace. I have missed seeing him and Kathy since they moved to Michigan. I will keep Kathy and the family in my prayers. God bless you.
