Coach Ward Lee certainly was a Durango, Colorado example of leadership and wholesome values to our youth. I remember his passionate talks about life, and of course, Baseball.
The "Old Timers league" involved thousands of Durango's youth over the course of many years. He impacted many, including me, and memories of Ward are also many. My condolences to the Lee family(s). Don Boyle

Coach Lee was the head coach for the little league (Old Timers) when I was a kid growing up. I played baseball on the VCA team, Vanadium Corporation of America. Coach we will miss you. He was one heck of a role model for us kids. Fond memories for sure. Rod Cook

The finest definition of teacher, mentor, and friend.
My brother, Mike Voss, and I both had the privilege of having Ward Lee as our teacher for history classes and a teacher/mentor for our outdoor living class and as our instructor for hunters safety class when I was a student at Miller Jr. High.
Mr. Lee's hunter safety class was my very first experience shooting a rifle.
Because of Mr. Ward Lee and his talent for teaching and his compassion as a mentor, the education I received from him, a true home town hero, is my most prized lifetime treasure.
Thank you Mr. Lee for giving me and my brother the gift of an education worth hanging on to.
