Trichia Walker Obituary

Trichia Lynn (Bishop) Walker was born December 3, 1969 in Colorado Springs, CO to Rickie and Linda (Corder) Bishop. She went home to be with her Redeemer August 19,2016. The cause of death was brain cancer. Trish is a direct descendant of Colorado pioneers. She was raised in Meeker, CO and graduated high school there in 1988. She then moved to Durango to attend Ft Lewis and graduated with a teaching degree. She later enrolled at San Juan College and obtained a physical therapist assistant degree. She married Dean on June 23, 2001. She bore a son, Joshua, in 2003 and a daughter, Joslyn, in 2008.

Trish "wore many hats" well including daughter, wife, mother, home school and Sunday school teacher, physical therapist assistant, personal trainer, events coordinator, ski school, landscaping, gardening, scrapbooking, and many others. Perhaps she was best known for her sweet, strong, and gentle personality.

Trish loves the Lord and pursues Jesus diligently. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Durango. The church poured an inestimable amount of love, prayer, and support in to the Walker family during the long battle with cancer. Trish is survived by her father and mother, brother (Rick O Bishop), husband, son, daughter, and a large extended family.

Trish wanted to be remembered as a story of a caterpillar that the Lord changed in to a beautiful butterfly. She loved the outdoors, flowers, high mountain lakes, hiking, biking, and camping.

A service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday August 27, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Durango.

Trish was a breath of fresh air. Her happy voice and smile will be what I remember about her the most. She and I became friends during her Ski School At Purgatory years. I was new and she greeted me with open arms. We spent many a night sitting in a hot tub at a house she was watching for some people . We looked at the stars and talked about life. She was a sweet soul and I will miss seeing her smiling face. WE were blessed to know her and call her a friend. To her sweet family, I am so sorry for your loss.

I remember Trish as a tiny baby, crawling on the floor, sitting in her high chair eating her" Cheerios", walking, laughing and growing into a young lady who lead her children to God. I only wish I could have gotten to know her better as I desire to do with all my cousins, but distance made it difficult. I am and will continue to pray for you, Dean, Josh and Joslyn. Stay focused on the big picture. May the memories you made with Trish carry you through until the day you see her again.

I remember meeting you along time ago. And, you were first married what a fun couple you were. Then as time went on we heard you were ill. WE begin praying for better health for you. When we did not hear good nor bad about you. we prayed for God to bring peace and comfort. Now you are with our Lord in his beautiful land. I do pray for your mom, dad and Rick O and your family that they also find peace as time goes on. Rest in Peace, Trish.
Till we ALL meet again. God Bless.
Love to ALL,
Elaine Bishop Pedro

Just because Trish is no longer here to share life's journey with us, it doesn't mean the road has ended. The road has simply come to a fork, where Trish took a different path than our own. In time, we will meet once more with Trish to share the journey of eternity on a road that is never divided again. Remember that wherever a beautiful soul like Trish has been, a lasting impression remains.

Remembering your family in this time of sorrow, and wish you all comfort and peace.

With warm thoughts and heartfelt sympathy,

Trichia - the sparkle that you were was a beautiful thing to see. Your smile always made us feel good. We've known you since our days at Purgatory together - and running into you at Needham felt like running into family. You left your mark this earth and will always be remembered - now ski with the angels.

The short time I knew Trichia was precious to me. She was a strong woman that carried a strong smile every day I saw her. My heart goes out to the family and her children.

Today She Walks with Jesus by Aunt Donna

Today she walks with Jesus
As she always longed to do.
Today she sits and talks with Him
And tells Him about you.

Her voice is strong, her body well
No pain or struggles there
Rejoicing in her brand new Home
No troubles, toil, or care.

She walks upon the streets of gold
Beside the Crystal Sea
And waits until you join her
Where together you will be.

So, weep no more in sorrow
There is grace to see you through.
As Jesus walks beside you
May you feel her presence, too.
