Tom Morgan Obituary

Albuquerque native and Nevada, resident, Tom Morgan, 40, (Thomas Kenneth Morgan) died March 5 in Las Vegas. Tom was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 2001 and Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado in 2010.

Tom is survived by his father, Harold Morgan and wife Susan Bennett; mother, Chris Morgan and wife, Sandy Trissell, of Albuquerque; sister, Kathy Morgan and husband D.J. Johnson, and nephew Christopher Johnson, all of Colorado Springs, Colorado; step sisters Nicole Trissell and Jamie Trissell; uncle, Tom Morgan and wife Alison Morgan, of Denver; aunts Connie Matzen and husband Vernon Matzen; and Marilyn Whitehead (recently deceased) and husband Curt Whithead; Lee Lovett and husband Bob Lovett.

Over the years Tom worked a variety of jobs, especially in the restaurant business, at Scout-related summer camps in Colorado, and most recently in security for casino theaters.

WolfWood Refuge near Ignacio, Colorado, where Tom volunteered for years, provided a beautiful statement about Tom that is included here both for the beauty and for the information about how to donate to WolfWood in Tom's name.

See the WolfWood website for the date of a celebration of life for Tom.

"It is with great sadness we share with you the passing of our friend, Tom Morgan. WolfWood became Tom's second home while he went to Fort Lewis and even after. Tom worked hard at the refuge and enjoyed going on our educational presentations. He loved the animals at WolfWood and they returned his love and trust. It was a place he could be accepted as himself and he remained connected even after he moved away. He was truly happy when he was with the wolves. For all of these reasons, Tom's family has requested that anyone wishing to honor Tom's memory through a gift send a donation in his name to WolfWood Refuge. The website, www.wolfwoodrefuge.org will have a way to donate on line and the address , phone number and email are also located there. We know Tom is now with Ranger, Bronte, Rukai and all the animals he called friend."
