Tina Lipp Obituary

Bayfield resident Tina T. Lipp died of complications of leukemia Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango. She was 48.

Mrs. Lipp was born to William Sullivan and Carol Norris on Dec. 3, 1963, in Butte, Mont. She grew up in Butte and attended school in Dillon, Mont., graduating from Dillon High School.

Mrs. Lipp went on to study nursing and earned her certified nursing assistant degree in Dillon. She worked in Montana and then moved to Jackson Hole, Wyo., where she continued to work and met her future husband, Eric Lipp. The couple married in 1991 in Jackson Hole.

The Lipp family lived in Spokane, Wash., for a short time and then moved to Durango, where Mrs. Lipp worked at the old Mercy Hospital. In the late 1990s, she began working for Life Care home health care.

When they moved to Bayfield in 1998, Mrs. Lipp became heavily involved in the Bayfield community, participating in many events that involved her daughter's school.

"Tina enjoyed reading, camping, hiking, fishing, crocheting and being with her beloved dog, Nikki," her family said. "She also loved being with her daughter and husband."

Mrs. Lipp is survived by her husband of 20 years, Eric Lipp, of Bayfield; daughter, Sarah Lipp, of Bayfield; mother, Carol Norris, of Post Falls, Idaho; father and stepmother, William "Sully" and Janice Sullivan, of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho; sisters Pauline Johnson of Post Falls and Tracy Sullivan Bell of Silverdale, Wash.; brother, Ronnie Pat Sullivan, of Post Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation will occur. A private service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1800 East Third Ave., Suite 101, Durango, CO 81301.
