Timothy Cooper Obituary

Timothy Scott Cooper was a devoted and loving husband, father, son and brother, who died in an auto accident June 6, 2016.

Tim was born on January 9, 1963 in Westminster, Colorado to Mitch and Carole Cooper. Tim grew up in California where he met his wife Paula Wallace. They returned to Colorado in 1990, where they settled in Durango. Tim and Paula started their company, Cooper's Construction Inc., in 1995. He earned a reputation as a skilled and talented businessman and entrepreneur. Prior to that, he worked for Flint Enterprise and Falls Creek Ranch in Durango. Tim loved to ride and race motocross with his Son Wyatt and friends. An expert hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed camping, hiking and photography. He appreciated and loved all the beauty of God's creation. Tim had a strong belief in Jehovah God and was a member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses through out his life. He volunteered both his time in the ministry as well as his expertise in building and caring for the Kingdom Hall property.

Tim is survived by many loved ones, his wife of 33 years, Paula Elaine Cooper, son Wyatt Mitchell Cooper of Durango, CO.; parents Mitch and Carole Cooper of Durango, CO.; sister Vicki (Bucky) Taylor of Durango, CO.; and niece Heather Donnelly of Lancaster, CA.

Memorial Services will be held at Miller Middle School Auditorium, Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 2:00 pm.

Thank you, Tim, for being such an outstanding example in so many areas. My son was just awarded the Tim Cooper Memorial Scholarship. What a privilege for him to be selected for this scholarship and what an honor to represent Tim's legacy in some small way. Many thanks to those of you who have kept Tim's memory alive through this scholarship.

I have never seen my husband cry until the news of Tim's death. I didn't cry for either of my parents' deaths, but I have not stopped crying over the loss of my good friend, Tim Cooper. What a devastating loss! My heart aches for Paula, Wyatt, Mitch, Carol, and Vicki. He was a great father, husband, son, friend, and servant of Jehovah.

Tim worked for us at Falls Creek Ranch as the manger. He was a very careful person with our equipment. I got to know him personally and I watched him develop. He was honest, entertaining, and very good at what he did.

Our condolences goe out to his family. The should know that Tim was a fine person and really well liked.

Tim Cooper was a dynamic, loving man with a heart as big as the outdoors where he loved to be. He was a friend to me and a super role model for my son who is Wyatt's friend. He shored me up when I needed shoring, and was always a shot in the arm of upbeat energy for all around him. Cameron and I are mourning this great man and are keeping our eyes on the day when we see him again. We wish we could be there for the memorial talk.

My sadness and sympathy goes to you Paula and Wyatt and the rest of the family. I know you will miss his upbeat and funny personality. His positiveness with life. But we all certainly look forward to seeing him again! It's just hard for those still having to exist without his support. Will always remember his silliness and laughter. Love I'm sending to you Paula,
