Ted VanDenBerg Obituary

Ted VanDenBerg, 90, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Durango, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, with family at his side. Honoring his wishes, there will be no formal services, but his ashes will be spread in his beloved mountains at a later date.

Ted served as a paratrooper in the Army's 82nd Airborne division. He also worked at many other interesting jobs throughout his life.

Those left to remember Ted include his wife Sandra; his children, Randy (Kristi) of Durango, CO, Colleen (Gary) Foust of Zwingle, IA, Darwin of Farmington, NM, Troy (Kim) of Rockford, IA, and Gary (Courtney) of Durango, CO; step-daughters, Lori (Bob) Clark and Kelly (Tony) Sellers; Ted's siblings, Bud (Willa), Dollie Harris, George (Grace), Lester (Chris); 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many others who have loved him during his lifetime. Family who passed before him include his parents, Andrew and Kleo (Keele) VanDenBerg, brother Charles in infancy, sister Joann, step-daughter Robin, and step-grandson Jesse.

Ted's family would like to thank the staff at Alta Mesa Health and Rehab Center and Anthem Hospice staff for their wonderful care.

Ted and are were great friends for many years, great trips to Garica Mexican restaurant. Many BS session were maybe neither one of us learned anything!! You will be missed my friend. Fly high.
