Sylvia Lewis Obituary

Sylvia was born in Wem, England and immigrated to the US in 1962. She lived in Olean, New York, Los Angeles, CA, and moved to Durango, CO in 1980. Sylvia and Ken owned Ken's Texaco and eventually Firestone of Durango. Sylvia loved to dance, read, listen to music, and to spend time with her family.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth G. Lewis and her father, Levi Ford.

She is survived by 3 children; Mike (Janice) Lewis, Yvonne (Dan) Hall, and Sonia (Lawrence) Miera; 6 grandchildren; Lauryn and Geoffrey Lewis; Casey (Stephanie) Hall, Tiffany, Clay (Emily) and Seth Miera; 2 great grandchildren Caden and Iliana Hall; her sister Beryl (Jose) Garcia; her nephew Kevin Grove; her stepmother Cynthia Ford and her stepsister Lynn Ford.

A memorial service was held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 2pm at Hood Mortuary, with internment of ashes at Greenmount Cemetery.

Yvonne and family, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. She was such a nice person. For some reason, she always reminded me of my mom, whom I have missed since losing her 12 years ago. You never stop missing your mom, but you will have those memories you have all created. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.
