Sharon Gordon Obituary

Sharon Lavone Gordon, known for her generosity and charity work, passed away peacefully on April 15th, 2025, in her Fort Collins living facility. She was 86 years old. She leaves behind three children: Brendon Van Gehlen Gordon, Danue Gay Gordon (Laborde), and Hosannah Katherine Gordon (Courshon) as well as 5 grandchildren. Born November 16th, 1938, she lived in Coos Bay Oregon as a child. She later received her elementary education degree at San Francisco State, where she also met and married FLC anthropology professor Don Gordon, which allowed the Gordon Family to spend one epic sabbatical year backpacking across India in the 80's. Sharon worked as a realtor in her early years, and later became one of the original founding members of both Durango Natural Foods, as well as the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Durango. She was also a beloved and gifted Navajo reservation second grade teacher who had a reputation as being an "expert" in teaching kids to read. She often joked that she was "Navajo" because of her love and connection to the culture. Celebration of Life: Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Durango September 27th @11AM.
