Roy Brown Obituary

Roy Thomas Brown, aka "Shadow Carson" rode off into his final sunset on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at his home in Finksburg. Born June 13, 1952, in Hanover PA. He was the son of Kenneth L. and Ruth J. (Hollinberry) Brown. He was the loving husband of Beth (Gunther) Brown for 54 years. Roy was a graduate of Westminster High School, class of 1970. Roy worked for Black & Decker in Hampstead for 15 years as a quality control inspector. He volunteered at Robert Moton Elementary School and really enjoyed spending time with the children there. Throughout his life he was a mentor to many. Roy was a member of the Single Action Shooting Society where he shot over 100 clean matches. He & his wife enjoyed participating in old west reenactments with The Outlaws & Peacemakers and the Society of Wild West Reenactors. Surviving, in addition to his wife Beth, are children Sharen Cool (Chris) of Taneytown, Tom Brown (Stacy) of Hanover, PA and Carin Brown of Finksburg; grandchildren Megan Cool and fiancé Timmy Caudill and Libby Brown; great-grandchildren Madison, Ty and Kayden Caudill; sister Mary Reilly of Hershey, PA and several nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by infant daughter Tara Ann Brown and siblings Kenny Brown and Charlotte Haines. A celebration of Roy's life will be held on Sunday, April 13th, from 1-4 at VFW Post #467, 519 Poole Rd., Westminster, MD. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Roy's memory to BridgingLife Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157. Cremation arrangements handled by Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, Westminster.

I was saddened to learn of Roy's passing,, I have been friends with Beth and Roy for many years. They both attended my 1972 wedding and were neighbors for many years. Rest in peace my friend. Deepest condolences to Beth and family.

All i can say is their was never a Dull momment when Uncle Roy was around he was a true character one of a kind, he will truly be missed. I'm sure he's up in Heaven telling stories and jokes which he loved to do. GOD Bless
