Robert Sexton Obituary
Bob loved his Country and was a true patriot. He joined the US Navy at the age of 17 and served during WWII, the Korean war and the Vietnam war, retiring in 1970 in New Orleans. He was present in Japanese waters when Japan surrendered in 1945. After military retirement, he moved to Durango and bought Mac's Liquors and later worked at Ft. Lewis College before retiring again in 1990.
Bob is survived by his wife, Karen, son Jeffrey Sexton, daughter Karen Blasi (Vic), grandsons; Jason Blasi (Emily), Justin Blasi (Margaret) and brother-in-law Ken Humphrey. Bob was great grandpa to Liam, Madison, Kepler and Wiles. Per Bob's request a private family service will occur at a later date with final resting at Greenmount Cemetery.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I knew Bob from Fort Lewis College. He was a good man. He loved his family. We lost touch over the years, yet I admired and respected him. May he rest in peace.

I was Bob's first student hire in the equipment room in the gym at Fort Lewis College. A great and honorable American. I was proud to have known him. Rest in peace my friend. Thank you for your kindness when I worked for you in the equipment room.

My Dad, Milton Knoll, served with Bob on the USS Ticonderoga (CV-14) during WW2 in the Radio Room. Both being 17/18 years old. Didn't know Bob well but my Dad and him would get together in 1990s when he came to visit me in La Plata County. RIP Bob.
