Robert "Mac" Carson McCoy

Robert "Mac" Carson McCoy, 90, of Charlottesville, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at his residence.

He was born January 22, 1919, in Houghton-le-Spring, County Durham, England.

He was a member of Ducks Unlimited; Wildfowlers Association of Great Britain and Ireland; British Association of Shooting and Conservation; British Field Sport Society; Detroit Curling Club; House of Dun Curling Club, Montrose, Scotland; Scarab Club, Detroit, Michigan; and owner of Macart Studio, Royal Oak, Michigan.

He is survived by his best friend and loving companion of 28 years, Beverly Beeton; daughter, Deborah Lynn Ellsworth and her husband, Richard, of Michigan and Montana; three grandchildren, Jason Ellsworth and his wife, Stacy, of Michigan, Jo Anne Wilson and her husband, Jimmy, of Midlothian and Jeffrey Ellsworth of Michigan; and a great granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Ellsworth of Michigan.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1 until 3:30 pm.

A funeral service will be held 3:30 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2010, at the Hill and Wood Chapel. Interment will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Riverview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Way, Suite # 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911 or Ducks Unlimited, Inc., One Waterfowl Way, Memphis, TN 38120.
