Robert Max Gallegos was born on April 6, 1956 in Durango Colorado. He was the son of Max Anacleto Gallegos and Cora Gallegos Gurule, who are both deceased. Robert, affectionately known as "Robbie ",has two older brothers, Frank Anacleto Gallegos (deceased), Carl Michael Gallegos and one sister, Maereen Zufelt.

Frank was married to Theresa Valdez Gallegos (deceased) and they have three children, Frankie Carl Gallegos,Rocky Allen Gallegos and Michelle Gallegos. They have numerous grandchildren.

Carl was married to Joy Walker Gallegos who died of leukemia. They had one daughter, Kara Adrienne Gallegos Iannantuono, and one stepdaughter, Kimberly Ann Gray. Carl was married a second time to Sheila McLaughlin Gallegos who died of melanoma, and they have two daughters, Kara and stepdaughter Jocelyn Jean Craig Golightly. Carl married a third time to Brenda Rocconi Gallegos, and they have one daughter - Kara - plus three married stepsons, stepson Michael and Andrea Rocconi; stepson John and Vanessa Rocconi, and stepson Michael and Kathy Rocconi. Plus seven step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.

Maereen is married to Wesley Ken Zufelt, and they have three children: Wesley Zufelt Jr. who is married to Misty; Kimberly who is married to Kevin Tracey; and Jamie who is married to Mason Steele.

The Gallegos and Gurule families are quite large, and there are numerous generations of aunts, uncles, and cousins who live throughout the southwestern and western US.

Robbie lived during his grade school years in Silverton, CO. He attended Loma Linda Public School on Florida Mesa during Junior High, and he attended high school in Durango, where he excelled in music, primarily the tenor saxophone. He attended San Juan College intermittently where he eventually earned an Associate Degree.

During his first job after high school, he worked as a "hard rock miner" in the mines around Silverton, first as a utility "nipper", but he eventually worked his way from journeyman electrician to master electrician.

Robert was also an expert photographer, and he established a successful business shooting wedding pictures

The job he worked at the longest was with PNM Company out of Farmington. He worked as a heavy equipment operator, driving huge Euclid dump trucks and power shovels. His final position was "Journeyman Epo" in the Environmental Fuel Operation of the San Juan Generation Station.

In addition to his love of photography and music, he played a mean mouth harp (harmonica), and he was often invited to "jam" with jazz groups at local music festivals, most notably the Telluride Music Festival. Robert was also an avid golfer, and he and his golfing buddies played numerous courses in South Carolina, Virginia, Pagosa Springs, and Tamarron where he co-owned a time share with his buddies from PNM.

Robert's greatest loves were fast cars, boss pickup trucks, and classic motorcycles. Of course, these were second only to his three cats, Sweety Mama, Calico, and Bronco, are good buddies who varied in age between 18 - 20 years!

We know the four of them are enjoying heaven lallygagging around together.

Robbie always had a smile on his face; never ever did he not smile. Robbie was part of the family through his brother Frank, who was married to my cousin Theresa. Robbie was just another cousin that was part of the family. I will miss his smiling face and great pictures he took when he would go out for a ride. RIP Robbie and may perpetual light shine upon you. Give my love to all the family up in heaven when they greet you.
