Robert Danielson Obituary

Robert Eric Danielson, aged 90, passed away on August 16, 2024, in Green Valley, Arizona. Born on March 29, 1934 in Cleveland Ohio, Bob, led a life marked by kindness, generosity, and a wonderful sense of humor. He was an outstanding husband, father, and role model. His favorite advice was to always seize opportunities that come your way, a philosophy he embodied fully throughout his life. He loved meeting and talking with people and his greatest talent was organizing systems where people could excel and reach their own potential.

Bob's early years included service in the Navy, where he was stationed aboard the USS Brownson in 1957. Following his military service, he embarked on an entrepreneurial journey, co-founding Alloy Bellows Inc. with his business partner, John Kanuch. This specialized welding and manufacturing company thrived under their leadership until Bob's retirement in 1994. Post-retirement, Bob and his beloved wife Beverly explored North America in their camper van, creating memories from Newfoundland to Alaska and all points in between, before settling in Durango, Colorado.

Bob loved the outdoors. He was an avid spelunker and enjoyed four-wheeling in the San Juan Mountains. His involvement with a local archaeology club in Durango led to many lifelong friendships. A lover of classical music, Bob was a generous supporter of the San Juan Symphony and numerous other organizations including the Cleveland Grotto, where he and Bev endowed a science fund for the study of caves.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Beverly Danielson, and his sisters, Doris Ferree and Elaine Danielson. He is survived by his sons, Stephen and Eric Danielson, and daughter-in-law, Julie Hays. A service celebrating Robert's life is being planned for early summer 2025 in Durango.

Bob's life was a testament to living fully and giving generously, touching the lives of many with his vibrant spirit and wise counsel. His legacy of love, laughter, and an unyielding zest for life will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.

I worked for Bob and Bev for many years after they moved to Durango and continued to do so even after Bev had passed and until Bob moved to AZ. I miss them both as they were the sweetest couple. I'd almost forgotten about the Koi pond they had and how Bob enjoyed feeding the fish. I have wonderful memories of such a special couple. My condolences to their family and friends.
