Regina Donan Obituary

Regina B. Donan, a resident of Durango, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Four Corners Health Care Center from numerous

medical complications. She was 78.

Mrs. Donan was born to Sam Henry and Josephine Ella Hash in Greenville, Ind., on June 25, 1931, and spent her childhood

in Borden, Ill.

She married Richard Donan on Aug. 5, 1950. She became an X-ray technician at St. Edwards Hospital in New Albany, Ind.,

before the couple moved to Albuquerque, where she worked at the Lovelace Clinic. While in Albuquerque, Mrs. Donan was

the technician in charge of X-raying the first seven astronauts.

The Donans then moved to Farmington, where she worked at San Juan Regional Hospital and in Dr. Gene Smith's office. The

couple moved to Bayfield and then to Allison, where they spent several years. In 1993, the Donans moved to Durango.

Mrs. Donan loved to fish and enjoyed making trips to Beaver Meadows to look at the scenery. She is survived by her only

child, Roy Lynn Donan, of Durango. She has five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Donan was preceded in death by her husband, in 2007, and her sisters Darlene and Maxine.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 31, 2009, at Hood Mortuary, with the Ref. Earl Caudill officiating. Cremation will

be held after the ceremony. Burial will be held at a later date in Allison.

In lieu of flowers, a bank account has been set up for Mrs. Donan at Wells Fargo Bank in Durango to help defray funeral

expenses.
