One of my favorite memories is walking from Panlap Sierra Leone back to the Peace Corps training camp during a very dark night. As we walked past villagers out playing music and dancing, Rachel and I were invited to dance with the locals which we did with gusto. After a few dances it was made clear to us it was time to leave. As we continued on we remarked how incredible that moment was. That was just the start of our experiences in Salone. Rachel, Bless You and I hope you are dancing with the Angels right now.

Learning of Rachel's death has stunned me - how could we not have known that this bright spirit, this force of nature - has left this earthly plane. One of my best memories was with Rachel and myself walking from Panlap back to the Peace Corps training camp and the local villagers invited us to dance with them in the dark, dark night. What is to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? Bless you Rachel, I hope you are dancing with the Angels. Kathleen

I am stunned to hear of Rachel´s passing. We served together in Sierra Leone As Peace Corps volunteers and became very close. Rachel was a force of nature and an amazing friend. We lost touch after her first wedding but reconnected in the 2010´s for awhile. She loved her daughters and being a mama most of all. I cannot imagine how devastated they are by her loss. Please know that I´m sure your mother spirit continues to watch over you. Kay Crawford

Rachel served on the Local First Board with me and I am very saddened and bewildered to hear of her passing.

She was a very giving, loving, and passionate supporter of many good causes in our community and we have lost a crucial voice for equity and local business.

All my family's condolence and sympathy go out to her wonderful children and family.

I met Racheal in 2000, when I started building my Habitat home. She was always a wonderful person to talk to. She has been there for me many times, as a mentor, a listener and a cheerleader. She was a great part of the success of many home owners and of Habitat for Humanity. She encouraged me to do more.
You will be missed. Prayers of comfort and peace to your families.
