Quentin Mayberry Obituary

Quentin Mayberry, 25, passed away on November 1, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. He was an organ donor and was able to donate multiple organs to save the lives of others.

Quentin was born in California, the youngest boy out of 6 children born to Jack and Dawn Mayberry. He moved with his family to Durango, CO at the age of eight in 2006. He was homeschooled until 2012, when his mother, Dawn, passed away from cancer.

Growing up, Quentin had a love of horseback riding and helping with animal care and other jobs around the house. He participated in baseball, with his father Jack as his coach for many years. In his teen years, he helped his father raise Shannin, his younger sister and started working as soon as he was old enough to get a job. His jobs over the years included Sonic, Kachina Kitchen, Walmart, Doubletree, and Homeslice Pizza. He also did construction work among others. He graduated from high school in 2016 from Durango High School. He loved skateboarding, snowboarding, spending time at the river with dogs James and Chucho, and spending time with friends. Quentin was a person who cared a lot for other people and would go out of his way to make people feel welcome around him with his great sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by mother Dawn Mayberry, grandmother Diana Naas, and many well-loved family pets. He is survived by father Jack Mayberry, sisters Jasmine and Shannin Mayberry, and brothers Dustin, Karlin, and Reubin Mayberry. He is also missed deeply by many other close friends and family members.

A celebration of life will take place on November 20th, Quentin's 26th birthday, in Durango. Please contact the family to make arrangements to attend.

Donations may be sent in Quentin's honor to La Plata Humane Society or Donor Alliance.

Mom is glad to see you, but we all wish it hadn´t been so soon. Every waking moment I´m reminded that you´re not here anymore. 5 months in this nightmare world, and I´m still stuck in LIMBO.

I just wanted to pray for Mr. Mayberry and his Family for this very tragic event. His life was short on this earth but will be with his Father in Heaven for Eternal life. He was very special and spirited I could see that in his picture. Bob Rau
