Paul Gervais Obituary

Mr. Paul A. Gervais, age 65, died early Saturday morning, September 5, 2009, in the Fletcher Allen Health Care, following an illness of several years. He was born in Plattsburg, N. Y., February 24, 1944 son of the late Alphonse and Madeline (Breault) Gervais.

Following high school Paul served in the Vermont National Guard and was employed as a machinist at General Electric, until forced by illness to retire in 1982. Paul was a former member of the American Legion Post # 88 of Sheldon. He was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bow shooting, snowmobiling, bowling and participated in many skeet tournaments. He especially enjoyed ice fishing with his friends, including Jimmy Hance and Henry Girard (all now fishing in the together in the heavens).

Paul is survived by his son Travis Gervais of Winooski, his grandson Luke Gervais of St. Albans, his partner Gloria Cotier of Swanton, two brothers Bruce and his wife Laura Gervais and David Gervais all of St. Albans, two nieces and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Alphonse and Madeline Gervais.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Sept. 10, at 10:00 A. M. in Holy Angels Church. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P. M. Wednesday. Interment will be in the Gervais family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
