Patti Skoglund Obituary
Patti is survived by her husband of 42 years, Dave Skoglund and her daughter, Stephanie Skoglund. She is also survived by sisters Shannon (James) McCumber, Casper, WY; Leslie (Mark) Beatty, Phoenix, AZ; Blair (Sam) Fernandez-Haynie, Alamosa, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents Don and Nancy Fernandez, Alamosa, CO; sister, Dawn Williams, Denver, CO; brother, Robert Fernandez, Granby ,CO.
Patti was born on August 31,1955 in Seattle, Washington to Don and Nancy Fernandez. She was the second of 6 children. She graduated from Adam State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree then continued on to her Masters in Speech Pathology. She married Dave Skoglund, the love of her life and best friend in August of 1980. They resided in Leadville, CO, then resided in Idaho, and Durango, CO, finally settling in Hesperus, CO. Patti and Dave welcomed their daughter Stephanie on December 16, 1988.
Patti worked at BOCES where she strongly advocated for all children in this area. Her coworkers remember and admire her for her determination and dedication to her job.
A celebration of life will be set for a later date. Condolences can be sent to 2913 County RD 126 Hesperus, CO 81326.

Please accept my condolences, and prayers for comfort and strength during this time of loss. I met Patti in the early 80's and she helped me get more comfortable using a computer for work purposes. Our paths crossed again around 2009 or 2010. Patti was funny and made me laugh many times. I was unprepared to hear about her passing. Becca

Patti was a true friend and collegue. She wanted to make things better for her students, her work environment, and her personal life. She was a strong presence as she spoke her truth and love. She will be missed by the BOCES as well as her many friends. Our circle of love surrounds Dave and Stephanie as we honor Pattie's spirit.
