Karen -
I am so privileged to have met your father, mother, and other members of your family. You are truly blessed with the family you have. I am so sorry for the loss of your father and yet comforted by all I've seen and read about your dad and family and all the memories you share. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Love you!

For Virginia,
Noel, Pete, all the same guy. A good heart, a good mind, and a wonderful person to be around. I'll always have the fun memories of hanging out with him, learning about his snow life, an occasional dinner with Virginia's cooking, the stories, the humor, the love and respect his friends had for him, and after many visits and too many phone calls to try and get it right, being able to dedicate Jerry Roberts and my book to him, Living (and dying) In Avalanche Country. It was only a few years later when one of his best friends kicked him in the chest, just about knocking a lung out, that Noel showed me, laughing, the perfect u-shaped hoof print on his chest. A wonderful man, and I'm so happy to have been able to spend some very special times with him... John Marshall
