Misty Clark Obituary

Durango resident Misty Ann Clark died of a pulmonary embolism Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at her home. She was 43.

Mrs. Clark was born to Shirley Anne Golden and Bert Wesley Cowan on Oct. 2, 1968, in Gillette, Wyo. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Shirley and James Kramer. When Mrs. Clark was little, her family moved to Colorado, where she graduated from high school.

She married Ronald Gene Kehn Sr. in Colorado. The marriage later ended in divorce.

Mrs. Clark worked for Western Refining for 10 years as an assistant manager and store manager, most recently at the Giant station on U.S. Highway 160 west.

On Feb. 14, 2000, she married Harry Thomas Clark in La Junta. The Clarks moved from La Junta to Durango in 2001.

She loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, cooking, four-wheeling, camping and fishing – her family said she was the best at catching fish.

She and her husband, Harry, took a trip to Hawaii in February 2012 to celebrate their wedding anniversary.

"Harry remembers how excited Misty was to learn the word 'shaka,' which means 'from my heart to yours,'" her family said. "She enjoyed sharing her fabulous new word with family when she returned from their trip."

Mrs. Clark is survived by her husband of 12 years, Harry T. Clark of Durango; father, James Kramer of Brighton; children Ronald Gene Kehn Jr., and Nicole Devon Kehn, both of Durango, Michael James Kehn and Eric Weldon Clark, both of Grand Junction, and Adam Lewis Clark and Michael Robert Clark, both of La Junta; siblings Tamara Kay Hayes of Bayfield, Jesse Duane Cowan of Durango and Mylinda Jane Davis, Edward Leroy French III, David Allan French and Debbie Lynn French, all of the Denver area; and one grandson.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, in the gymnasium at Animas Valley Elementary School, 373 Hermosa Meadow Road. The Rev. Glen Walker will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to First National Bank of Durango for the benefit of Misty Clark. For more information, call (970) 247-3020.
