I was blessed for several seasons to call Mildred my step-grandmother when my mother was married to Mildred´s son, Bob. I really felt fortunate to have known her. Such a gracious and loving soul! Her wisdom was inspiring. She had such a way of knowing and such depth of heart and spirit. When she´d take my hand in her hands as I spoke, I knew her understanding was far beyond the words we shared . She looked right to your soul. As families parted, we stayed in touch through holiday cards and letters, but I´d always hoped I would someday make it to the senior center just to hear her voice and hold those gentle hands again. Such grace and tender kindness. And such a blessing to everyone fortunate to know her and hear her kind words. Mildred´s body may have finished its purpose, but her spirit lives on in all who encountered her. I feel extremely fortunate to have known her, and my admiration for her will never end.

I am so sorry to hear of Mildred's passing. My mom (Roberta Parrett Loney - they were cousins) and I got to visit Mildred in 2008 and kept in touch - we last spoke after my mom passed away in December 2015. Mom had many fond memories of her Uncle Leonard and Aunt Lillian and Mildred. Wishing her family peace.

It was a great pleasure to have known Mildred. She was fixture for many years at the Ignacio Historical Society meetings. I always enjoyed her stories about Ignacio in the 1930's God speed, Mildred! You are missed!
