Rest In Peace, Mike. I am glad to have known you over the years and thank you for being the advocate you were for our children.

I went to grade school with Mike in Maywood, IL. I have not seen him in over 45 years. We sent Christmas cards a few times, then lost contact. I have thought of my childhood friend through the years. I am not sure why I Googled him tonight, but I did, only to realize he passed away 10 days ago. My thoughts are with his family, and I will always lament not reaching out sooner. Godspeed, my old friend..

While I have known and interacted with Teresa & Grace more than Mike, I have always appreciated him! That smile of his! Goodness, it will be missed!
Teresa, Conor & Grace; my heart breaks for you guys. Please know that my hurt hearts simply because I know your hearts are hurting.

Decades ago when our kiddos were small, Mike and I served on the Community Connections Family Support council. In fact, Mike is the one who invited me to join the council. Occasionally our advisor would bring in sandwiches for us to enjoy during lunch. But no cheese for Mike-he called their cheese "plastic". To this day when I order a sandwich-with cheese-I still recall Mike's wry response. To T, Conor and Miss Grace-love and hugs from The Cavanaugh family. May memories like this bring comfort.

Mike was a joy to be around. We shared many a wonderful moment whether it'd be golf, baseball, the San Juan River, DSCPA concerts, BBQ's and more. Our sincere condolences to Teresa, Grace & Conor. Much Love, Lenny, Maggie & Andrew

Oh my gosh. This has come a quite a surprise to me. Have known Mike and Teresa and kids since 1990 when they arrived. I have loved the family for years and always enjoyed our conversations including Medicine, Baseball, the kids and old records. God bless you my friend.

Mike was the first person to help me with my advocacy journey with our daughter, Alyssa, about 18 years ago. Not long after, I met Teresa and the kids. Mike had such enthusiasm and humor. He was one of my favorite people. Being a part of their family has been an honor. Mike will be greatly missed. I know his laughter and will remain in the hearts of everyone who knew him. My heartfelt condolences to his lovely family.
