Maurice Dahl Obituary

Maurice K. Dahl passed away on December 27th 2022, he was 88 years old. Maurice was born June 30th, 1934 in Goose Prairie, Minnesota to his parents Clarence & Pearl Dahl. His family moved to California in 1939. Maurice was a successful real estate developer in Southern California building tracks of homes. He was a great athlete playing football while in high school, college and while serving time in the Army. He loved being in the great outdoors skiing, hiking, biking and riding his horses. He had a love for animals, especially his horses, dogs and cats. Maurice and his wife Wendy Grantham Dahl moved to Mancos in 1993, to realize their dream of owning a mountain home and raising their horses there. They bought a 1904 one room school house, which they proceeded to renovate and restore. Maurice loved the town of Mancos, the beautiful area surrounding and he especially loved the warm and friendly people there. Maurice is survived by his wife Wendy, his three children, Lanae Dahl, Brian Dahl, Denise Dahl Russell and step-son Craig Miser; his eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren and his three siblings, Virginia LeMay, Clarissa Coulter and Charlie Dahl. Maurice will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
